This week my design wall has been very busy. I have been pulling projects up and down all week, working on a number of things but not quite finishing any of them. First up I did more of my Tula Pink 100 Modern Quilt Blocks…
I have been having a great time playing with novelty fabrics as I know that this is a quilt destined for a little girl. In other words you can not have too much pink or too many mermaids.
I am now 28 blocks in… I know I am not going to make all 100 for this quilt, but I do have a few more to go.
The other project I started playing with this week is my Scrapbeelicious quilt blocks. I have now got almost all my Bee blocks in and have started working on how I want to lay them out. I received the most amazing blocks from my fellow Bee members and I am so excited to be working on this quilt. Here is a sneak peek of what I have up on my wall at the moment…
I am going to make a few connecting blocks and really look at how to use negative space to give the blocks room to breath. This is going to be fun.
Wow, you have been busy! I do not have a design wall, I have a designs in my head. I am making notes and cutting fabric. I am done with my Christmas sewing for now. My kids and grand baby will be out of the country for Christmas, so I will do my sewing for the grand baby after Christmas.
Sounds like the new year will be busy. My design wall is not as big as I would like. If I had my way our whole downstairs wall would be covered in batting… We would have to find where else to put the television though.
I love all the pink! I’m looking forward to seeing how you put it all together. 🙂 ~Melanie
I love how your bee quilt is looking. Such fun blocks!
Of course, I love it all! I especially love the way the bee blocks are coming together. That city blocks book is sitting on my shelf. I just need to get some projects done. So, I can make one. 🙂
Love love love your Bee quilt. I hope to finish mine soon. I think it’s more pressure because I know I get to keep this one. Your tula blocks are stunning and I can’t wait to see this one finished. Have you made 100 quilts this year? Insane, lady!
It has been a slow year this year. I have only made about 40 quilts so far. I am blaming the various medical hiccups. Next year I hope to get closer to 100… And the Bee quilt will definitely be one.
What a gorgeous set of bee blocks!
Your blocks will make a very sweet girl quilt. Loving your scrapbeelicious blocks!
Oh those bee blocks are fantastic! Can’t wait to see what you turn them into 🙂
Beautiful, beautiful low volume bee blocks. My favourites (after foxy of course) are the starburst second up from bottom left, and the feather. One day, one day SOON, I shall make my first attempt at a proper grown up paper pieced block. But not until my Tree is done. That’s going to be a very beautiful quilt.
everything looks so lovely, I can’t wait to see how all the Tula Pink “Pink” blocks come together 🙂 All the scrap-bee blocks looks amazing together, I can’t wait to see the finished product, and I hope that it’s fitting your vision so far!
your tula blocks look smashing in all that pink with the novelties! I really love it.
and your bee members outdid themselves with the wonderful scrappy sends you got. goodness, how fun! that is something any of us would be happy to play with a bit, I imagine.
Block #87 is my favorite!
You can’t goo wrong with pink and the mermaid;)
I so agree with you. The Mermaid is my favorite too.
Love 95 and 100! I think it’s the grey combined with the pink. Those bee blocks are awesome! The tea pot and the feathers are my favorite, can’t wait to see the whole quilt!
100 is one of my favs too. I do seem to be favoring the end of the book with my block choices.
Thanks for the heads up about this book. I am exploring now. Making my wish list for my 2014 quilting! 🙂
It is a fun one. I have really enjoyed making the blocks so much.
Your low volume top is going to be amazing – all the blocks look great together! I can’t wait to see how you end up fitting them all in 🙂
beautiful Tula blocks!
