Today is the start of the fabulous Sew Mama Sew Giveaway Day.. and I decided to join in the fun by giving away a scrap pack of Heather Ross goodness.
If you are new to my blog…welcome… feel free to have a look around. If you are a regular you are probably aware I am an avid fan of scrap quilting, paper piecing and colour and my Heather Ross fabrics are always added as a special touch to a quilt. This scrap pack has cuts from some of my 10 of favorite yellow Heather Ross pretties, with most of the pieces being around 9 x 11 inches.

Big color person here. My favorite colors are purple and pink. But no quilt is a quilt by me without yellow or orange in it. Even a teeny tiny amount of it. Makes the whole thing pop. Great giveaway!

Those are fun yellows! Right now I’m working with aqua and peach. Seems very summery to me!

Pink fabric seems to find its way into everything. I am trying to diversify. Really, I am. I’ve even bought black and purple!

My favourite colour to quilt with appears to be pink – it’s so easy to get all the different tones to play nicely with each other. When it’s purples you’ve got to be more careful with separating the bluey and reddy ones, I think. And yellows! They can be really difficult especially when you start to do the value check because most sunny happy bright yellows are quite light and finding darker shades of yellow that don’t go all browny can be difficult. Going a wee bit orangey can help, like the fabric in your bundle to give away. Thank you for the chance!

Lately I can’t seem to get enough of orange, but red is always a stand by color for me.

I always seem to drift toward blue. But purple is my favorite, so I plan to attempt something with shades of purple next…navy and aqua are already entering my plan though! Thanks for the giveaway!
