WIP Wednesday seemed like a good time to take stock of what I have “in progress” at the moment. So here goes…

I was just thinking that I wanted to see all your red and aqua blocks laid out! I love that stars top too. Looks like you have a lot of quilting in your future.
Next Monday I will try and photograph all the star blocks together. Promise.
My personal favorite is Sunburnt Country. (I’ve been slightly obsessed with it ever since I saw it on Fresh Modern Quilts.) But all your stuff is gorgeous.
Thanks. Sunburnt is a commission so I have to get it finished soon. It will not be sitting in a cupboard for 10+ years!

Wow, that’s A LOT of work you’ve got going on! It all looks fantastic, but really love those paper pieced blocks.
I know the feeling of being overwhelmed. I sat down a couple months ago and took stock of all the UFOs I have and ongoing projects! I also felt completely overwhelmed and not sure where to start. I decided to put them in a spreadsheet and just keep looking through the list after I finish one to see what I feel like starting/finishing next. 😀
I actually shut down and didn’t sew for a week after I wrote it all down! Then decided they will never get done if I don’t start tackling them! LOL
Great idea. I am going to make a list and work through it.
It’s fascinating to see an evolving style in your work, I love your work especially your bold bright colour combinations. As to where you go next I’m not sure but look forward to seeing what happens next.
Ripping out paper in PPing can become an obsession to get every piece out well at least for me it was lol!

I have trained my husband to help with the paper removal. He is efficient but not precise. I have to go in with tweezers after he is done to get the little bits out. Lol.
WOW!! That’s a lots of WIP’s! Piecing the quilt top is by far my favorite part of the quilting process, so I understand. I think that I derive the most satisfaction from it because that’s where I can see my creative vision come out. Good luck deciding which to work on first! They are all so beautiful, but I especially love the aqua and red star blocks!
Piecing is my favorite bit of the process too. I feel the most creative playing with fabric and colour.
I thing that after your commission quilt, you should do your Linus Quilts, then put the names of all the rest in a bag and pull one out at a time, after you finish a quilt. Then, if you send them out for quilting, send them out as soon as you finish the front. When they come back, either sew your binding down, or teach your hubby how to do it, like I did. Lol Good luck!

I’m glad to see I’m not the only one with long term uncompleted projects (although only one of mine is a quilt).
I’d never heard of Project Linus before. I looked it up, but could only find an American website. Could you please tell me where I can find information for the Australian Project Linus? Thanks.
I have just been to the Project Linus site and realized they have updated their website. It now has no link to any of it’s International chapters. I have reached out to the main branch of Project Linus to find out what is happening. I am not sure where you are in Oz but I know there is a Canberra chapter on line, a WA based organization called Komfort 4 Kids and my sister still working with the Brisbane group. I will let you know as soon as I have had a response.

I am with you on that. I spent last night pulling paper off my favorite quilt. It is the one I really want to get finished. I will be doing a bit of basting today. Need to get at least three finished soon! That is my new goal.

Your quilts are so alive with color. Is there a pattern name to purchase of the 1930’s Star quilt. I understand the layout but was curious of the measurements. Thank you.
Hi Cynthia. The pattern I used was from 1997 and was called Galaxy Star. The blocks is six inches and I managed to find a link the the pattern here. http://www.reocities.com/pcpiecers/fpgalaxystar6.html. Hope that helps.
