Another Pink themed Paper Piecing Monday…
Today’s block is the last one for my baby quilt. It is another EQ inspired block that I turned into a paper pieced pattern. You can find the free PDF pattern for this 12 inch block here…Pinwheel Snowball
Now that I have completed four of these blocks, I have been playing with the layout for the baby quilt. For the first time I had a plan for my paper piecing Monday blocks before I started making them…
I knew I wanted to make the most of the scrappy black and white background fabric so I cut a stack of 6 1/2 inch square blocks from my b/w stash and started playing with the layout.
I have a bit more rearranging to do with the blocks, but I am close to being happy with the layout. My hope is to have the top done by Friday…weather permitting!
I love that black and white pineapple print — any recollection of where it is from?
I am sorry I do not have selvage information left on my piece of pineapples. I know I bought it from Fabric.com about a year ago if that helps.
These are so pretty together!! I love the pink on the grey, it makes such a pretty quilt.
What a beautiful grouping. The B&W prints are really going to let the pink stars shine!
“My black and white stash”… Now I know what I am missing: a themed stash. Guess I need to go shopping (the 10 tubs of fabric groan at that). Love the baby quilt layout. The zebra fabric is extra cute.
I was looking for black and white cow fabric and all I could find was the zebras…but they work perfectly.
Hmm, you’ve reminded me my black & white stash is rather low… I need to go shopping! Love the layout, I think the contrast is great and the combination is sweet for a little girl’s quilt.
Glad to give you an excuse to shop. Are you back from your adventure?
Yup, back, recovered, and already planning the next one! It was the best fun, and such a nice bunch of people. I must get over to Spotlight, they have their Easter sale on, with 30% off!
I love theses octagons!!!
Love those black and white prints, especially those ants (even though I don’t like them in person)
Love it!
Its so cute, love it, thank you so much, Tina (Auckland New Zealand)
Another great block for my collection ‘one day soon’ 🙂
Ivy posted about your blog and your beautiful blocks on the Modern Quilting group on FB – thank you so much for the gorgeous, free patterns!! Love your work and I’m now following you directly!
Thank you for sharing my site.
These are looking lovely. What a classy baby quilt this will be!
