Welcome to Paper Piecing Monday and something a little different… This weeks pattern is another 12 inch spinning pinwheel for my Do.Good.Stitches bee…
For this block I stayed with the red white and blue colour theme our Queen Bee set but when I was designing this block I thought it would be a great in rainbow colours too, so I played a little in my design program…
But that is not what is different…if you want to really see what has changed you need to download the free pattern… you see I have found that I can make PDF patterns in Word and so things look much prettier… check it out…Simple Pinwheel Block..
Let me know what you think.
Looks awesome
It looks good! And I like the new blog layout too!
I’ve been looking at quite a lot of your patterns recently – I’m looking for nice but simple blocks for my block swap party, and I’m slowly getting better at paper piecing, so thank you for the patterns and the inspiration!
Kate I am so thrilled that you are joining the dark…I mean paper…side.
One day I’ll return the favour and have you loving the assembling of hexies! Seriously, if you need a whole lot put together, lay them out, take a photo, and stick the lot in an envelope and mail it to me!
Oh you may regret that. I am on a hexie kick at the moment. Not sure what I am going to do with them but I am having a ball.
You can’t scare me. I made a great big hexie quilt in seven months. I made a huge one in eleven months. Bring it on!
I think your new pdf programming – however you did it – is awesome. How did you do that in Word? is there a secret?
No secret. The pattern is designed in EQ then I print it, scan it and bring it into Word. Word allows me to do multi page PDFs without any hassle.
Great rainbow version.
Love this block. Thanks.
Such a neat way to use up scraps! Love it. And love the Red-White-Blue Theme.
Thnx again for a fun pattern! Sure appreciate your willingness to share your creations!

Love the new format, extra info for later. No more guessing about the finished product. Great job
beautiful! next work!
Do you have to print and scan the block or can you just import it into Word using the EQ tools?
I have been printing and scanning as it allows me to adjust and renumber (I find EQ’s numbering system not always perfect). I have not tried exporting an image out of EQ and into word… I will have to give it a try and see what happens.
That’s really gorgeous! Can’t wait to try it
That’s brilliant. I’ve saved it to try. You’ll make a paper-piecer out of me yet!
Love this block. I especially love the red, white, and blue version
