Thank you so much for all the free patterns. I came across your web site on face book, and was really happy when I saw all these beautiful samples! I haven’t been a paper piecer but plan to start because of your inspiration.
Thank you! I have been dabbling in patch work and quilting for nearly a year and just decided to try some paper piecing and can’t believe how lovely these patterns will be to start with. Thank you!
I am glad you like them and am extra glad you are going to use them. They are really simple but I love the results.
Thank you for your free Patterns, you have given me some Black and White Inspiration. Great Patterns BTW. Cheers.
Glad you like the patterns. I would love to see what you do with them, if you use them. Keep me posted.
These are so beautiful and perfect timing since I’m going to a paper piecing workshop tomorrow! Thanks so much.
These are amazing! Totally inspired to start another quilt!
Thank you so much for all of the patterns! I want to start a batik star quilt after the holidays, your patterns will be an awesome help.
Glad I could help. I would love to see what you create, if you do not mind.

Thanks. I really do love what I do, even if I do not always love the finished quilt!
Wow! What a great selection.
This is a great selection of patterns -thank you!
Thanks. I add to it almost every week. There are so many great sources for paper piecing on the web.
I love paper piecing. I am going to make the star in wood grain fabrics and give it to a girl friend that works in wood. Thanks

Happened upon your blocks on your blog by a friend’s pin from Pinterest and absolutely love it. I love to paper piece and look forward to trying some of these!
So glad you found me, I love meeting fellow paper piecing enthusiasts. It really is a great way to get amazing quilts.
Awesome. Love these rhanks
SO amazing! Question: I have only started English Paper Piecing recently, by hand with hexagons. Can I do the same with these patterns (leaving the paper in and folding/basting the edges)? Your work is seriously beautiful!
Hi. These patterns are not really designed for EPP but that does not mean you can not do it. It is definitely extra work, as the patterns are designed for simple straight sewing. I would encourage you to give paper piecing a try, but I am really biased.
Your patterns are wonderful … I have a Friendship Block request out to my guild for star blocks and referred them to your site for ideas … thanks so much for posting …
They are all so beautiful I don’t know which one to pick. I am in need of the 12 1/2 inch blocks as an exchange with my secret pal at my guild. Thank you so much for your website.
Marg you should be able to find something fun. 12 1/2 is a great size for paper piecing I think, as no pieces get too ridiculously small and there are such great patterns out there.
I just wanted to add my thank you with all the others. Your sharing is much appreciated!
Love your patterns; just started paper piecing & am working with silk which I have to stabilize (yawn) but the blocks make beautiful little tableaux which I am then attaching to canvas for wall hangings. These are the nicest free patterns I’ve seen & better than some of the ones I’ve paid for too! Big thanks……
I have always wanted to try quilting with silk but it seems daunting. Glad you like the patterns.
Thank you , thank you for sharing so many star patterns!!!!. I am starting a queen size Mariner’s Compass/Star quilt and am using so many of your free patterns. Thank you!
Wow a queen size quilt is quite a commitment. I am glad I could help.

I tried to download the Penny Lane by 627Handworks but I get a message it can’t be found. Could you please assist me in downloading this pattern? Thank you.

Thank you! The patterns are amazing and I love that the pieced centers lay/lie flat. Inspiring!

So here we go… starting down the line. Decided I’m making them in order! Wish me luck (this first one will be my 5th ever made paper pieced block) Yikes!
Good luck. I would love to see what you make if you are inclined to share.
I will for sure!
Here we go : First one done. I made it huge (14 inches finished) and made a pillow for my son! http://familyfaithfoodfabric.wordpress.com/2014/05/06/paper-piecing-and-squishy-pillows/ One to the next!
Lovely. I had not thought if using the pattern as a stand alone but I like it. Great job.
Thank you… the next pattern I may make into a table topper… make 4 blocks, make the topper about 20 X 20 inches. I’ll let you know how it goes!
Good luck!! I’m doing a few of them my own…
Good luck to you!

I just wanted to say that it is amazing all the patterns you have the goodness to share. I love browsing your site. And I follow you on flickr. Thanks for taking your time for all you do, the blog, the patterns, the quilting, the flickring. email@example.com
Thanks for the lovely comment, though I must admit I just love quilting and sharing the amazing patterns that are out there on the internet. I love helping people make pretty things!
Hi! I am a newbies newbie! LOL Love, Love, Love all your patterns. I am making a Texas block quilt, just coming up with different blocks and was wondering if there was a Paper Piecing Pattern for a North Star Block. I haven’t found one and I know that if there is…you would have it. Thanks so much for all you do and for any help you can give me on the north star.
Tanya. There are a couple of blocks that are called North Star…can you send me a link to the block you want to make or a photo of it. Email firstname.lastname@example.org.
I will try to upload it from the book I have. It is Quilt Blocks on American Barns by Eleanor Burns. Just really pretty I think. Thank you so much for your help. My daughter is the computer geek so I will see if she can help me. I just love your patterns!
I am vice president of the Santa Rosa Quilt Guild, Santa Rosa, CA
I’m also in charge of the Block of the Month program for a second year.
This year I’m doing paper piecing (check the website if you like and look under Block of the Month in the tool bar) …
I’ve been having great fun creating the patterns.
Looking at your website, I could not find any reference to the use of your WQ patterns other than private use.
By any chance could I use one of your patterns for the BOM program? Of course I will give you full credit for the pattern. Also, if you look under Friendship Blocks, you will see pictures of star blocks made for Jim Jensen (me); when I put out the request for the blocks, I referred to your blog, and you’ll notice several that were made with your patterns.
Thanks for your consideration.
Jim please feel free to use my paper pieced block as part of your BOM. Thank you so much for asking. Cath

I am blown away by the number of free paper piecing blocks that you offer here. They are incredible, and your color sense is just plain AMAZING! I love all of them! I can’t decide which one to do first! Thank you for your generosity.
Thanks grace though I can not take all the credit for the blocks as only a handful I designed. The rest are free patterns I have found out in the internet ether.
I have tried several times to download the Penny Lane pattern and the link freezes up, any suggestions?
I will give it a try and report back. I have never had any issues with Julie’s site but if there is a problem I will let her know. I will get back to you shortly.
Thank you. I love the design and am excited to give it a try.
Teresa I just opened and downloaded the pattern without any problem. If you are still having issues I will talk to Julie and see if she will let me just send you the PDF. So let me know if you still can not make it work, and in the meantime I will reach out to Julie about sending you the PDF.
thank you very much for the free patterns!God bless you! Solange/Brazil
I am looking for paperpiece
dr Suess patterns especially cat and the hat/ I have the hat pattern. thanks patricia
Sorry I can not help you. I did a search through my resources and do not have anything that is Dr Suess. Good luck with your search.
How do I order the (FREE ?) star pAtterns?
Eunice the patterns can just be downloaded onto your computer and printed out.
i googled paper piecing and chose this website first. I have made my grandchildren quilts and only two grandchildren left to do. (5 so far) . My next is 17 yrs old just started college. he is an avid sportsman. hunts fishes football wrestling. I was sort of considering paper piecing bears, deer, fish trees I don’t know im not sure. do you have any patterns for wildlife or something along those lines? I went to a class or two on quilting in general and I did one small paper pieced Christmas tree. its not easy in a way but I would be willing to try it. i’m thinking a full/queen size quilt. any suggestions?
Linda I can recommend checking out two different forest based paper piecing patterns. Violet Craft has a fabulous new collection of critter patterns which includes an amazing Stag … http://www.violetcraft.com/pdf/forest-abstractions-quilt-pdf-quilt-pattern. There is also a free collection of forest patterns which might work as well…http://shape-moth.blogspot.de/2013/03/forest-qal-comming-soon.html.
Hi…I love your choice of fabric..hope to be able to better in my future..I am looking for a large sun surrounded with rays…have you ever seen one. Anyway, this site is a keeper…blocks excit me.
Cee this is the pattern that popped into my head when you mentioned sun. http://thebakingrobot.com/2011/12/19/pop-rocks-cookies/
To make a complete sun you would need to do four of these blocks and put them together.
Hello! Would you
mind if I share your blog with my twitter group?
There’s a lot
of folks that I think would really appreciate your content.
Please let me
know. Many thanks
Not a problem at all. Thanks for asking.
I came across your website while doing an paper piecing search. I have to say that these are my favorite patterns, hands down. We have a similar sense of color. I just love bright colors! Thanks for all the free patterns. I will definitely be making some of these.
Tracy I am glad you found my site… it is always lovely to hear from fellow paper piecing lovers. If you feel like sharing, I would love to see what you create. Cath
